Take a behind-the-scenes look at the construction of our Generators. TD Power Systems offers air/water cooled generators in frame sizes 84,100,110,125,145,172,210 and 250. These come with fully laminated cylindrical rotor as standard construction. TDPS - Toyo Denki generators come with the following advantages. v High efficiencies for maximum power generation v Compact size,minimizing space requirements v Lower unit weights to keep down the initial investment during installation, commissioning, maintenance and inspection v Low Noise v Axial removal of rotor possible without shifting the stator and without distrubing cables, bus bar and water connections. Stator Stator Frame: Made of welded mild steel plate construction capable of withstanding the mechanical/electrical vibrations and ensuring effective flow of cooling air. Stator Core: Stampings are of cyclindrical shape, made of good quality, low loss silicon steel sheets with ventilation ducts placed at suitable lamination thickness to enable the cooling of interior core.Finished stamping stack is rigidly welded at stator frame. Stator Winding: High voltage coils are formed in diamond shape using rectangular copper strips ,preinsulated with enamel and glass covering of Class F grade insulation. The coils are inserted into the open slots in the stator core, which are then closed with non-magnetic/ magnetic wedges. The end windings are secured,lashed and braced with glass fibre cord to withstand short circuit forces. The whole stator is Vaccum Pressure Impregnated (VPI) . After the impregnation and curing process , the whole unit forms a rigidly fills all the voids in the stator windings and results in better heat transfer from conductor to stator core. Rotor Shaft- Made of forged steel. Rotor Core- Made of thin steel sheets punched in circular shape with slots. The rotor core is rigidly fitted on the shaft. Ducts are provided in the core for proper cooling of the rotor coils.Damper windings are provided on the outer periphery of the core. Field Winding- Flat type copper wires are bent edgewise, formed and inserted in slots, rigidly fixed by wedges. Winding end parts are fixed by resi-glass binding enabling the construction to withstand the centrifugal force. The wound rotor is dynamically balanced to ensure low vibration. Bearing v Depending upon the application, out-put and speed , the Generators are supplied with roller, ball or sleeve bearing.Antrifiction- ball/ roller type are provided for smaller capacity generators. v Large capacity generators are fitted with sleeve bearing. Construction of sleeve bearing v Two sleeve bearings with bracket type mounting. v Forced lubricated system provided as standard . Self- lubrcating system is provided for low speed generators. v Sleeve bearing with white metal on cast steel base metal. v Automatic center adjusting type supports the outer periphery by spherical seat. v Bracket provides strength to support the weight of the rotor. v Labyrinth construction prevents the leaking of lubricating oil to the outer part. v non drive end bearing is insulated, to prevent shaft current. Exciter and the rotating rectifier assembly Brushless exciter and rotating rectifier assembly mounted on the same shaft of the main AC Generator supplies the required excitation to the generator PMG(Optional) Permanent magent generator as Pilot exciter is provided as an optional feature for better. v Waveform since the automatic voltage regular derives it's supply from PMG and is isolated from the AC Generator output terminal. The harmonic current from the load is prevented from passing to the AVR, thereby reducing the voltage distortion. v Positive voltage build-up, as residual is no longer required. v Ability to sustain short circuit current in the event of faults. v Better motor starting capability with lowered voltage dips Excitation System All our generators come with imported digital AVRs of BASLER or ABB make. AVR is machine mounted in case of smaller capacity generators and a separate AVR cum Excitation Panel is provided for generators with larger capacities. AVR cum Excitation Panel is dust proof and vermin protected.This panel is freestanding, floor mounted cubicle conforming to IP 42 constrauction consisting of the following main features. v Voltage regulation : < = 0.25% v Voltage variation : 10% v One Auto and one manual mode as standard.( Dual Auto mode- one main and one hot standby,can be provided as optional feature) v Soft start voltage build up v Aux QDC for parallel operation v Volts-per-Hertz limiter v Automatic P.F controller v Field flashing for shunt excitation v Excitation field ammeter and voltmeter v DFR Unit v PT fuse protection v Field over voltage protection TD - Open type air-cooled machine. TC - Totally enclosed water-cooled machines The machines are with F insulation and temperature rise restricted to class F Ambient 40 Deg C Enclosure for open type machines - IP 21 Enclosure for closed type machines - IP44 For slow speed machines, TC frames can also be offered.
